When you use Microsoft licensing that you purchase from AppSource, you'll notice that these licenses are per-user, and you have to assign them to specific users or groups within your organization.
At times, you may create a report that you want to share outside of your organization, using Power BI's 'Share' or 'Publish to Web' capabilities. Unfortunately, Microsoft custom visual licensing purchased through AppSource does not support those environments, because there is no way to count users or assign licenses to anonymous report viewers.
However, CloudScope offers an alternate licensing approach designed to support these unsupported environments. We can provide a license key as part of a subscription that you can apply to visuals used in your report. When this key is applied, the visual will render even in environments that are considered unsupported by AppSource.
You can purchase these licenses on the product pages on the CloudScope web site. There are various licensing options depending on the number of internal users who will view your reports. Once purchased, these licenses can replace the AppSource licenses, which will no longer be necessary.
