Both Collage and Collage Pro allow you to connect to external URLs in response to a click on an image. In order to do so, you must provide a data column that contains a url, and also enable the visual to respond to the click action. Both of these actions must be performed in order to launch external URLs.
Map Data Column
During configuration, the report developer must provide a number of data columns to the Collage control. Some are required, such as the url to the image data used to display. Others are optional, but must be provided if you want to enable specific features.
To launch external urls, the report developer must include a column of data that consists of urls and add them to the Collage visual. Next, the url column must be mapped appropriately. The correct mapping is to the "Permalink URL" column, as shown below.
Here, the data column is called "Permalink" and it has been mapped appropriately to the required "Permalink URL" column type.
Enable Launching URLs
After the column has been supplied and all of the data columns have been mapped, enable the option in the Collage settings area, under "General options".
This setting must be enabled for users to be enable to launch external URLs. It is not enabled by default, following Microsoft's visual design recommendations.
